First, installation wasted a search engine plugin I had written for the Conquery extension, for Yahoo Finance. It is one I use all the time, and now it was nowhere to be found. I rewrote it. Then, just now, FF stopped accessing the Net entirely. I got FF's own no connection screen. All the while IE was working fine

Microsoft accessing a computer through VISTA??
One user has no problem accessing net, another does. I have a cable modem. I have checked the LAN, it is enabled and I have run a repair. About 24 hours ago I was unable to access the net after having previously had no trouble at all. What actually happens is that the connection icon comes up and moves to the bottom RHS of screen but the bytes sent & received remain static at about 400 each while the time clock continues to run.
